Coronavirus Update from John Cortese - 21 April 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

“Notre Dame College continues to hold high expectations of all partners in the learning process.
As we
face the challenges of remote learning, the shared responsibility between teachers,
students and
parents is more important than ever before.”
Remote Learning Programme @NDC

We have been working on our Guide to Remote Learning @NDC for Families. We now have this finalised – CLICK HERE to view. Please read through this with your children and check in with teachers, House Heads or other key contacts (listed at the back of the guide) should you have any queries or concerns. As a College we certainly appreciate your tremendous support and the efforts you are all going to with supporting your children as they engage in their Remote Learning.

Student Bulletin

A Student Bulletin is available through SEQTA Learn for students every day. Please encourage to your children to start their day by checking the Student Bulletin as they would when in Pastoral Group at school. There is also a daily prayer which you might like to join your child to pray.

Supporting Learning Enrichment Students

Many of our learning enrichment students are finding the change to learning online extremely challenging, and at times, even overwhelming. This is completely normal and understandable for them.  We want to reassure them and you that we can put plans in place to support them through this.

Some strategies we can try are:

  • a reduced subject load,
  • modified tasks,
  • virtual support meetings with learning enrichment mentors, and/or
  • virtual homework club for support.

We also strongly encourage any parents of students who are part of our usual Learning Enrichment Program who consider their child would benefit from coming into school to receive extra support from the Learning Enrichment Mentors to consider this, even if it is for a couple of days a week.

Learning Enrichment students do meet the criteria of attending school at this time and are very welcome if the process of registering their attendance is adhered to, so we can ensure we have the staff and resources to cater for them. You are able to register your child to attend the on-site program by CLICKING HERE and selecting the registration link at the top of the page

Our Learning Enrichment Coordinators (Kathryn Sait Yrs 7 – 9 and Denise Enayati Yrs 10 -12) are available for you to speak with, as are the relevant Heads of House, by calling the College and leaving a message – they will be able to return your call. Alternatively, they can be contacted by email.

There are some students who may still have items in their lockers. If students need these items to be able to fully engage in their learning please email us at this address and give us clear details of the location of your child’s locker. We will endeavour to locate the resources and will make contact with you once we have been able to prepare them for pick-up at the Knight St Office.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child or the Remote Learning Program, please get in touch with us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Keep well.
Keep safe.
