Parent Teacher Interview Cancellation Advice

13 March 2020
Dear Parents and Friends,
The coronavirus situation is evolving quickly.  The Government announcements this afternoon stressed that at this stage the risk to Australians has not increased.  Government measures are precautionary and designed to slow transmission.  The new measures which have just been announced by the government are based on advice of increasing cases and community transmission.
The government also made very clear that normal daily work and attendance at school should not be interrupted at this stage and communities should continue to go about their normal activities.
However, organised non-essential gatherings of greater than 500 people have been discouraged from Monday until further notice.  Technically as a school we are exempt from this, however the Leadership Team have made the decision to cancel the Parent Teacher Interviews planned for Monday 16 March.  We will continue to give staff updates with regard to future events on our calendar as the situation evolves.
The NSC are in the final stages of testing the Term 1 Interim work habits report.  The reports will be made available to students and  their families as soon as possible via SEQTA Learn and SEQTA Engage.  Families are encouraged to use the Direct messaging features in SEQTA Engage if you wish to communicate directly with subject teachers.  Teachers will continue to provide feedback in line with assessment and feedback guidelines.
