Notre Dame College employs a Canteen Manager and Assistants to run the Knight Street Canteen. The canteen is open at recess and lunchtime for all students. Students can order their lunch before school each day and pick up from the canteen at the start of lunchtime.
Our aim is to keep prices affordable and offer a wide range of foods. EFTPOS facilities are also available.
We are always looking for volunteers! The canteen is a busy and fun environment to work in, interacting with other parents and staff whilst engaging with our wonderful students. Volunteers work with the Canteen Manager and Assistant on a roster basis (that suits their availability). Volunteers are needed between the hours of 10am - 1.30pm each day.
You will be required to complete a 'volunteer' working with children check (which is quick and free). You can do so here:
If you have any questions regarding volunteering please feel free to contact the Canteen Manager on 5822 8400.
*Halal and Gluten Free items available (Please refer to Canteen menu for options).
Café Emmaus is applied learning in action. It is the canteen for the Year 9 Program as well as the venue for the students to complete their Food Handlers Certificate and some of the other competencies in a VET certificate two in Hospitality. Each day before lunchtime a class prepares and serves all the lunch orders and other foods that can be purchased from the café – slices, muffins, cookies, fruit salads, fruit, and yoghurt.
The variety of lunches available is very different to regular school canteens. Students can choose from a menu that changes with the skills of the students. The lunch orders use produce from the vegetable gardens and eggs from the chickens raised by the agriculture students. The café is open at recess and lunchtime each day.
Located and accessible by the north-facing windows (across from the Careers Centre), students and staff can enjoy freshly made beverages before school (8.15am - 8.45am) and during recess Monday to Friday.
Mercy Blend Café offers more than just barista-made coffee and hot chocolate for staff and students. It serves as a valuable training ground for students, a welcoming community space, and a place where they can volunteer their time in a fun, friendly, and safe environment.
