Joss Church, a local under 20’s touch football player, who has played for many years, is now aiming high and participating in the NTL’s (National Touch League) this year. He has played for multiple representative teams, like NYC (National Youth Competition), SSV (School Sport Victoria) and has also participated in the local Victoria Touch League and the Junior State Cup, being highly successful in all.
The Kautai sisters are three very talented local young women who have been playing touch for as long as they can remember. The three girls, Zahlia (16), Tennille (14) and Aroha (12) have all locally played in the Western Affiliation Cup, Victoria Touch League and Junior State Cup, all while representing VIC in NYC and SSV. The Battle of the Best is another one of Zahlia’s many competitions. Tennille and Aroha are currently preparing for the upcoming Junior State, NYC and SSV trials later in the year.
Alyssa (15) and Giaan (13) are just another two of the local talent hiding in Shepparton and surrounds. The Williamson girls have participated in NYC, SSV, Victoria Touch League, the Western Affiliation Cup and Junior State Cup for the past couple of years. The girls are joining their teammates to train for the upcoming NYC, SSV and Junior State Cup trials.
There is a massive competitive and social touch community in the city area of Melbourne, however for more rural players it’s always been a challenge to drive to trainings and games. Now though, thanks to Shepparton Touch Association (STA), it’s now in our backyard and we are looking for more local junior talent to join us and the fun!
You don’t need any experience, as during the first two weeks we’ll be playing games and doing plenty of skills and drills. So head down to the John Mcewen Reserve on Brauman St, Shepparton on Wednesday the 5th of February at 6pm for a super fun time.
