NETBALL

After winning the Goulburn Murray District Netball Carnivals held in May, Notre Dame College’s Year 7, 8, 9/10 & 11/12 teams competed at the Hume Region Netball Carnival held in Wangaratta on 8th August, with the results being as follows:

Year 7: Round 1 – NDC 30 def Sacred Heart College Yarrawonga 6; Round 2 – NDC 24 def FCJ Benalla 4; Final – Cathedral College Wodonga 27 def NDC 21.

NDC Finished 2nd.

Best players were Layla Ratcliffe, Lily Uluakiahoia, Millie Daniel.

Year 8: Round 1 –Sacred Heart College Yarrawonga 17 def NDC 13; Round 2 – FCJ Benalla 20 def NDC 12; Round 3 – Catholic College Wodonga 34 def NDC 12.

NDC Finished 4th.

Best players were Tori Wellington, Lexie Pearce, Abbey Whitaker.

Year 9/10: Round 1 – NDC 23 def Sacred Heart College Yarrawonga 7; Round 2 – NDC 26 def FCJ Benalla 13; Final – Galen College Wodonga 29 def NDC 19.

NDC Finished 2nd.

Best players were Sophie Eade, Sophie Pugh, Jamison Stovell.

Year 11/12: Round 1 – NDC 29 def Sacred Heart College Yarrawonga 21; Round 2 – NDC 30 def FCJ Benalla 14; Final – Galen College Wangaratta 28 def NDC 23.

NDC Finished 2nd.

Best Players were Jaylah Meda, Brianna Turner, Amani Issell.


CLAY TARGET SHOOTING

16 students attended the North East Zone Clay Target Championships held at Echuca on 8 August, with the best results being Liam Treble with 15 hits from 20 shots, Bailey Blackledge and Sam Reid, both with 12/20, and Jack Caverzan, Jack Emanuelli and Blake Thompson, all with 11/20.

The students were commended by organisers for the way they conducted themselves and represented NDC very well, so well done to all the NDC competitors.

HOCKEY

Notre Dame College’s Senior Hockey team competed at the Hume Region Carnival held in Albury on 2 August, with the results being as follows:

Round 1 – NDC 7 def Rutherglen 0

Round 2 – NDC 5 def Wodonga SCC 0

Final – NDC 6 def CCW 0

Best players were Sam Holland, Liam Caiafa & Zac Bathman.

NDC now move through to the School Sport Victoria State Hockey Championships on 23 August.


SOCCER

After winning the Goulburn Murray District Soccer Carnivals held in May, Notre Dame College’s 9/10 & 11/12 teams competed at the Hume Region Carnival held in Shepparton on 6 August, with the results being as follows:

Year 9/10:

Round 1 – NDC 7 def Broadford SC 0

Final – Catholic College Wodonga 1 def NDC 0

NDCs best players were Naite Timson, Will Jones & Lachlan Cox.


Year 11/12:

Round 1 – NDC 5 def Broadford SC 0

Final – NDC 4 def Galen College Wangaratta 0

NDCs best players were Xavier Black, Orlando Bevilacqua & Josh Reid.

The Year 11/12s now progress through to the SSV State Soccer Championships on 12 September.
