After winning the GMD Basketball Carnival held in May, NDC’s Year 7, 8 and 9/10 Boys teams progressed through to the Hume Basketball Carnival held in Shepparton on 8 October. The results were as follows:

Year 7 Boys - Game 1: NDC 54 def Myrtleford 23; Game 2: NDC 23 def Broadford 19; Final: NDC 28 def Cathedral 27

Year 8 Boys - Game 1: NDC 43 def Myrtleford; Game 2: NDC 68 def Mansfield 31; Final: NDC 37 def Galen 34

Intermediate Boys - Game 1: NDC 36 def Sacred Heart College Wodonga 17; Game 2: NDC 44 def Mansfield 34; Final: NDC 40 def Victory Lutheran College Wodonga 33

Each of these teams will now proceed through to the School Sport Victoria State Championships in Melbourne on 18 November.

HUME REGION ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

40 NDC students competed at the Hume Region Athletics Carnival on 11 October in Albury. NDC finished 1st overall in the Girls and 5th in the Boys Schools Aggregate Champions Award – well done to all the students for contributing to these fantastic team results.

Elliana Gray finished 2nd in the 15yo Girls Age Group Champions awards whilst Jack Gospel’s record-breaking results continued when he broke the 800m record - which has stood since 2010 - with a time of 2:02.11.
