GV Health Work Experience Programme - Year 10

Dear Year 10 Students,

We are excited to inform you about the upcoming GV Health Work Experience Program, which is scheduled to run between August and October 2025.

This programme offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the healthcare field, providing valuable insights into the various roles and departments within GV Health.

Please note that the GV Health Work Experience Program is a separate programme from your I & E placement and Employment Pathways placement and will require a separate application process.

Further details, including the application procedure and specific placement opportunities, will be provided in the coming months. We encourage all students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity. Exciting Opportunities for Regional Students: Upcoming University Events

As we approach the April school holidays, several universities are hosting events tailored to provide regional students with insights into campus life and various study disciplines. These events offer a unique chance to explore potential career paths, engage in hands-on activities, and experience university environments firsthand. Below is a curated list of events that might be of particular interest:

1. Discover ACU – Campus Events

Australian Catholic University (ACU) is hosting 'Discover ACU', designed to give students a taste of specific disciplines and campus life. Participants can engage in workshops, explore facilities, and interact with current students.​

  • Ballarat Campus:
    • Arts and Humanities, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy & Teaching: Thursday 10 April, 10.00am – 12.30pm​
    • Nursing and Paramedicine: Friday 11 April, 10.00am – 2.30pm​

Registrations are essential and can be completed at Discover ACU.​

2. Federation University Walk & Talk Tours

Federation University invites students to personalized 'Walk and Talk' tours at their Gippsland, Berwick, and Mt Helen campuses. These one-on-one tours with current students provide insights into possible careers and campus life.​

  • Dates:
    • Tuesday 8 April, 9.30am – 1.00pm​
    • Thursday 10 April, 3.00pm – 6.00pm​

3. La Trobe Bendigo Campus Talk & Tours

La Trobe University's Bendigo campus is offering 'Talk and Tours' sessions, allowing students to meet course experts, explore facilities, and get a feel for on-campus accommodation.​

      • Nursing & Midwifery: 10.00am – 11.45am
      • Paramedicine: 11.45am – 1.30pm
      • Physiotherapy & Exercise Science: 1.30pm – 3.15pm
    • Tuesday 8 April:
      • Law & Criminology: 10.00am – 11.45am
      • Occupational Therapy & Speech Pathology: 11.45am – 1.30pm
      • Business & Accounting: 11.45am – 1.30pm

4. Focus on University of Melbourne Information Session

The University of Melbourne is hosting an information session focusing on undergraduate study and pathways. This session provides an opportunity to delve into specific study interests and learn about creating a degree based on passions and strengths.​

5. Angliss Experience Days

William Angliss Institute is offering two experience days, providing hands-on activities and insights into the hospitality and culinary industries.​

  • Angliss International Hotel School Experience Day:
  • Cookery Experience Day:
    • Friday 11 April​
    • Cost: $30​
    • Participants will engage in a hands-on cooking class, enjoy a lunch on-site, and take home their dish.​
    • Register at Foods Experience Day.​

6. RMIT Campus Tours

RMIT University is hosting campus tours during the April school holidays, providing students with insights into their post-high school options.​

  • Dates:
    • Monday 7 April – Thursday 11 April​
