2024 Term 1 Parent Teacher Interviews

Research shows that parental engagement is crucial for young people’s cognitive, social and emotional development.

Parent-Teacher Interviews are an opportunity to meet your students’ teachers and a great way to promote communication between school and home.

Parent Teacher Interviews enable both the teacher and the parents to work together to improve their student’s learning and social wellbeing.

  • Monday 4 March 3:50pm – 7:30pm
  • Wednesday 13 March 3:50pm – 7:30pm

Location: ALL interviews will be conducted onsite on the northside of Knight Street in the McAuley Centre and Champagnat Centre.

Booking appointments: You will be sent a link via SMS to book online. Sessions open Monday 26 February @10:00am and close on Friday 1 March @ 9:00am.

Teachers across all year levels will be available for each session. The Parent, Student, Teacher Interviews provide an important opportunity for parents to meet with subject teachers and receive feedback on students’ progress, application, participation in class and student performance. We encourage all parents to attend Parent, Student, Teacher Interviews and to regularly review their child’s performance via Notre Dame SEQTA Engage.

Parent, Student, Teacher Interviews are set at 10-minute intervals and bookings are made using the Notre Dame College Portal, via SEQTA Engage. Parents make their own appointments on their preferred dates and method.

Subject teachers and Head of House have an opportunity to request interviews to address concerns, parents will receive a pastoral care notification via SEQTA Engage prior to the portal opening requesting their attendance.

If parents experience any difficulties with the booking system, please inform the office staff and we will do our best to overcome the problems quickly. If a teacher is fully booked for the session, please let the office know and your details will be passed onto the staff member who will contact you to determine alternative arrangements.

The teachers look forward to meeting with you.

Year 12 Retreat

Last week saw the Year 12's off on their annual Retreat. Students spent 3 days reflecting and preparing for their final year at Notre Dame and beyond. Here are some moments captured from their trip away.

Caritas Project Compassion

To celebrate the launch of Caritas Project Compassion, our Youth Ministry trainees and some of our student leaders braved the heat and cooked pancakes for Shrove Tuesday. Over the six weeks of Lent, Notre Dame will be raising funds for projects to support the work of Caritas in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.

Academic Awards

Last week the Academic Awards evening for Years 11 and 12 was held at Shepparton’s GV Hotel. The College celebrated the outstanding efforts of our students and all of their achievements.

Sports Academy Skills Session

Students involved in the Sports Academy Programme completed their first skills session for the year across AFL, Netball, Cricket and Soccer. Last week, our Basketball program also got underway. The fields, courts and nets were buzzing with enthusiasm from everyone involved. During these sessions students will be building on the fundamentals of their chosen sport as well as expanding their skills with the guidance of our dedicated coaches

A huge thank you to our supportive families for ensuring our students were ready to go bright and early at 7:00am! We look forward to another fantastic year of growth and achievement for our student athletes.

Valentines Day in the Library

Our ever popular “Blind Date with a Book” is back. So come into the library through the month of February and browse our collection of books to find your perfect match.

The College Celebrated Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is a special holy day on the Church calendar that marks the beginning of Lent - 40 days of prayer, penance and almsgiving to prepare us for the joy of Easter.

During Liturgy, ashes were distributed onto the foreheads of our staff and students - a sign of repentance of sins and one's humility before God.

Lent Display in the Library

We are called to reflect on our lives, to consider God's love for us and to help those in need. It is also a time for renewal through prayer, fasting and giving, as we prepare to celebrate the resurrection of Lord Jesus Christ.''

Sorry Day Breakfast

On Tuesday morning, the Shepparton community came together in the Queen’s Gardens to commemorate the 16th Anniversary of Australia’s Apology to the ‘Stolen Generation’. Attending for Notre Dame College included our College Captains, Vice Captains, Student Leaders and other students as well as our Principal, Deputy Principal and other NDC Staff.

National Apology Day in Australia is observed on February 13 every year in Australia. It is a national day commemorating the first-ever national apology made by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd in 2008 to initialise the Australian federal government’s rehabilitation, justice, and reconciliation agenda for the Indigenous Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders, and the tens of thousands of Aboriginal children who were forcibly removed from their families during Australia’s assimilation era.
