What to do if your child is unwell

Contact the school to advise your student is unwell:

There is no need to keep your child home with a common cold if they seem well.

If your child has COVID-19, they should stay at home for at least five days or until they have no symptoms.

Speak to your child’s GP if symptoms worsen.

If your child is experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms they should be excluded from school until symptoms have ceased for 24 hours.

Year 11 Food Studies

The Year 11 Food Studies class has been busy in the kitchen this week, cooking with ingredients that have been introduced to Australia through migration.

On Monday they made Singapore noodles. This dish is based on the style of cooking noodles used by many Singaporean street vendors. The ingredients include rice noodles, char sui pork and vegetables.

Caritas K Fund Raiser

Last Wednesday Notre Dame College took up the challenge to walk more than 7km from Jackson Park to Chinaman’s Gardens to raise funds and awareness for Caritas Australia.

Every day, millions of individuals around the world need to cover many kilometres to fetch water, obtain food, get to school or market, or flee from natural disaster or conflict. In an act of solidarity, NDC were encouraged by Caritas Coordinator Kerry Stone and by our College Student and Staff leaders to do the hard yards and walk a distance whilst carrying volumes of water.

It was a magnificent day weather wise and to have the full school participate really made us all think collectively about how lucky we are to have so much. NDC is pleased to continue our support of Caritas and this particular event – The Caritas K’s.

‘Cup Off’ Observation Learning Challenge

Last week the three Year 12 Psychology classes participated in a ‘Cup Off’ to demonstrate observational learning. Students had to learn the Cup Song as shown by Anna Kendrick in the movie Pitch Perfect. The activity was a fun and engaging way to apply their studies, while participate in some friendly competition.

The winning class was 12 PSY1c, Mrs Malloy's class followed, closely by the 12 PSY1b, Mrs Ewart's class, and coming in third was 12 PSY1a, Mrs Reynoldson's class.

Well done to all participants, you did your class proud.
