VRQA Audit

We have been undergoing a minimum standards audit by the Victorian Regulations and Qualifications Authority, led by the assessor Jan Hayes over the past week. Jan has spent two days onsite visiting various areas of the College, as well as many hours going through our policies, assessing our practices and procedures in the areas of Child Safety, curriculum and assessment, enrolments and record keeping, and risk and compliance management. It has been a rigorous review and we look forward to reading the final report. A very sincere thankyou to all the staff that were involved, but particular thanks to our Risk And Compliance Officer Tony Kluytmans for his spectacular work in ensuring our College documents are always current and relevant.

Personal Electronic Device Policy Update

As communicated in our semester 2 letter to parents, we have reviewed our personal electronic device policy and will no longer be allowing students to use their mobile phone for payments at any of the cafes or the canteen. Additionally, mobile phones will not be used as part of any curriculum activities and the expectation is that all students, if they choose to bring a mobile phone to school, are to store the phone in their locker from the first bell to the last bell of the day. We look forward to creating some space from distractions from mobile phones and other devices for students to focus on their learning. Parents are reminded that you can always have messages delivered to your son/daughter via the office during the school day. Please check the updated policy on our website.

New School Uniform

Many students and parents have provided us with feedback of the new school uniform. It is currently on display at Noone’s Uniform in Corio St Shepparton. After discussions at Advisory Committee and the collation of the data from our feedback surveys, all year 7 and 10 students in 2025 will be required to wear the new uniform in its entirety. We acknowledge this will have some challenges but encourage families to use the sustainable schools site to sell items of the current uniform that will not be required by them as there will be four other year levels that can still wear these items. The new uniform features improved fabrics and styles that will be more comfortable and durable for students. Our updated uniform policy and code will be on our website very soon.

We wish all our families a restful and peaceful break, and look forward to our students returning for term 3.
