Hume Region Swimming Carnival

On Friday 14 March 22 students represented NDC at the Hume Region Swimming Carnival held in Wodonga. Against some very strong opposition, we had some fantastic results in the events with the team finishing 5th out of 42 Schools.

Students to finish in the top 3 of the Age Group Champions award were:

  • Imogen Walsh 3rd in 12-13yo Girls Championships
  • Isla Shaw 2nd in 15yo Girls Championships
  • Nicholas Antonello 1st in 16yo Boys Championships

Students who won their event, and therefore qualified for the SSV State Swimming Championships held in Melbourne on 1 May were as follows:

  • 16yo Boys: Nicholas Antonello in 100m Backstroke and 200m IM
  • 13yo Girls: Amelia Baker in 50m Backstroke

Congratulations to all NDC competitors.

Also, a special mention to year 10 student Nicholas Antonello who returned with 7 medals! The results of these are as follows:

  • 3rd Boys 12-20 100 LC Metre Breaststroke
  • 2nd Boys16-Year-Olds 50 LC Metre Breaststroke
  • 2nd Boys16-Year-Olds 50 LC Metre Breaststroke
  • 1st Boys 12-20 100 LC Metre Backstroke
  • 1st Boys 16-20 200 LC Metre IM

CRICKET

NDCs Year 11/12 Cricket team played against Rowville SC in the SSV State Quarter Final on 17 March in Shepparton. The scores were as follows:

  • Rowville (7/110) D Smyth 3/10 defeated NDC (10/86) A Frost 27
