“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
— Hebrews 11:1 NRSV

Yesterday, the College community came together for the Opening College Mass which was officiated by Bishop Shane Mackinlay with support from Father Adi Indra and Father Joe Taylor. Congratulations to our College leaders who were presented with their leadership badges which were blessed by Bishop Shane.

The new College theme 'Pilgrims of Hope' was reflected throughout the Mass, students and staff were invited to consider the meaning of our 2025 College Theme.

A pilgrim is someone on a journey, and this year students are encouraged to consider how hope guides them—through life’s challenges, moments of growth, and in their connections with God and others.

Students reflected on three questions:

1. What does hope mean to you, and when have you needed it most?

2. How can you bring hope to others in our school community?

3. What steps can you take on your journey to become a pilgrim of hope in the world?

These reflections were presented as part of the Offertory during Mass, symbolising our shared hopes and intentions as a College community.

Let us take this opportunity to pause, reflect, and consider how each of us can be a source of hope—for ourselves, for one another, and for the wider world.

Loving God,

You remind us that faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things unseen. In moments of uncertainty, fill our hearts with trust in Your promises.

Today, we bring before You our hopes—both spoken and unspoken. Help us to recognise Your quiet presence in our lives and believe in the good things You have prepared for us.

Grant us the courage to walk with faith, even when the path ahead is unclear. May we find peace in knowing that You walk beside us, filling us with hope and love.

Amen.
