Please read the information at the link below with regards to your student’s participation in Early Commencement Programme which commences on Monday 2 December 2024:
Year 8 Japanese classes enjoyed a Sushi tasting lesson last week. After watching a short video on the history of sushi, each student had an opportunity to taste some different types of sushi, prepared by Nana Sushi sushi bar.
Students tried chicken katsu, chicken teriyaki, tuna and cucumber, Californian roll, tuna and avocado and a variety of vegetarian rolls.
It was a great opportunity to try something new and different, and for Miss Ito and Mrs Cormican to thank the Year 8s for a great year and to wish them well on their Year 9 journey. Arigatou gozaimasu (ありがとうございます) and Sayounara (さようなら)
The Mercy Cup was a valuable learning experience for all the Student Leaders involved in organising this year’s matches. From creating the draws to setting up on the day, students learned many new skills.
There was clear progress from the first game to the last, and it was exciting to see more students outside the Student Leader group volunteering to help as the event went on. With the newly designed draws and ladder different Houses climbed the rankings. The games became more popular, and people who hadn’t signed up before offered to join in and play.
The stall, featuring sausages and Zooper Doopers attracted a wide range of donations, helping to raise over $800 which was donated to Foodshare Shepparton.
The winners of the lolly jar guessing game were Mr Borthwick and Zac Walker. The Brownlow Award for the season was claimed by Zander Gooiker, who received the highest number of votes during the year.
The 2024 Mercy Cup premiers were Jennings House, claiming victory in a thrilling penalty shootout against Kennedy House.
A luncheon was held with Rev. Jeremy Rensford, Chair of Foodshare Shepparton, who explained to the students the impact that donations like these make to help our local community.

The students looked amazing:
On Thursday 21 November, students at the Knight St campus had the opportunity to compete in our Term 4 UNO Tournament held in the Library at lunch time. It was a bustling event with students competing for the honour of UNO Champion.
With 7 tables of 4 students competing, winners moved through the rounds until the final three competed in a championship round. The championship round was a tightly contested one with each participant being in a UNO position at some point in the game.
With a large crowd watching, Year 7 student Deeman Khangura from Jennings was crowned Uno Champion.
