We held our Opening Mass last Thursday - officiated by Bishop Shane Mackinlay with support from Father Adi Indra and Father Joe Taylor.
The new College theme 'Pilgrims of Hope’ was reflected throughout the Mass. Congratulations to our College leaders who were presented with their leadership badges after having been blessed by Bishop Shane.
Students from Years 8-12 and a few staff members had an unforgettable hands-on experience with the Army STEM Engagement Programme visiting NDC. From piloting helicopters in a flight simulator to stepping inside an artillery tank with immersive VR technology, this programme brought science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to life like never before.
With real-world insights from professionals in cyber, engineering, aviation, and defence roles, our students explored exciting career pathways in the Australian Defence Force.
A huge thank you to the Army STEM Team for providing this interactive, engaging, and inspiring experience.
Shrove Tuesday is the day before Lent.
It comes from the custom of ringing the Shriven Bell to summon people to Church to be “shriven”- that is to confess their sins at the beginning of Lent. At that time certain foods were given up for the duration of Lent. Those foods included egg, milk, meat and rich buttery dishes.
So on Shrove Tuesday they used up these foods. It is from this that the tradition of making pancakes on Shrove Tuesday began. ...and we are all about honouring traditions at Notre Dame, so many pancakes were consumed.

Have the kids grown a little over the holidays?
Would a spare uniform or two reduce the daily washing pressures?
Is last year's uniform looking a bit wild and woolly?
The Thrift Shop is open every Wednesday from 3:30PM to 4:15PM and is located where the old school uniform shop used to be (Corio Ave, enter the College gates and it is on the right hand side, beside the oval).
