As our College community prepared for the Opening College Mass, students were invited to reflect on the meaning of our 2025 college theme, ‘Pilgrims of Hope’.
A pilgrim is someone on a journey, and this year students were encouraged to consider how hope guides them—through life’s challenges, moments of growth, and in their connections with God and others.
Students will reflect on three questions:
1. What does hope mean to you, and when have you needed it most?
2. How can you bring hope to others in our school community?
3. What steps can you take on your journey to become a pilgrim of hope in the world?
These reflections were presented as part of the Offertory during the Mass, symbolising our shared hopes and intentions as a College community.
Let us take this opportunity to pause, reflect, and consider how each of us can be a source of hope—for ourselves, for one another, and for the wider world.
Loving God,
You remind us that faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things unseen. In moments of uncertainty, fill our hearts with trust in Your promises.
Today, we bring before You our hopes—both spoken and unspoken. Help us to recognise Your quiet presence in our lives and believe in the good things You have prepared for us.
Grant us the courage to walk with faith, even when the path ahead is unclear. May we find peace in knowing that You walk beside us, filling us with hope and love.
Amen.
Monday 17 – Friday 21 March Harmony Week
Friday 21 March Harmony Day Assembly
Saturday 29 March Youth Mass – 6:00pm at St Brendan’s Church
Friday 4 April Easter Liturgy and Project Compassion Cup (Staff vs. Students - Caritas fundraiser)
All students are invited to celebrate Harmony Day by wearing their traditional cultural attire or a sports jersey that symbolises their heritage. Students can also support Harmony Day by wearing a touch of orange—the colour associated with Harmony Day since it began in 1999.
Important:
Students timetabled for PE, Sports Academy, or Technology subjects will need to change into their appropriate College uniform for these classes.
Harmony Day is a celebration of Australian multiculturalism, focusing on inclusiveness, respect, and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background.
To open our Harmony Day assembly, nominated students will process in with flags to the song "I Am Australian".
All students are encouraged to join in singing the chorus:
"We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands on earth we come
We share a dream and sing with one voice:
I am, you are, we are Australian
I am, you are, we are Australian."
Let us come together as a community to celebrate our diversity and promote inclusiveness, respect, and belonging for everyone.
We look forward to seeing the amazing colours and styles that reflect our rich cultural tapestry!
