Helping keep young people safe online

Thank you to all the parents and guardians who attended the information session with Senior Constable Mitchell Bull which focused on supporting our young people in the online world.

We understand that there were many in the community who were unable to attend on the evening.

We would like to share two resources that come highly recommended for parents:

Thinkyouknow.org – This site was created by the Australian Federal Police. Some of the materials in Mitch’s presentation came from this site.

Esafety.gov – This site was created by the eSafety Commissioner and is an independent regulator of online content in Australia.

We will continue to support our young people around online safety through our curriculum, guest speakers, and wellbeing conversations. We also aim to host similar information sessions for parents in 2024.

Structured WorkPlace Learning Programme

Safety / Wellness Award

Tony Kluytmans, NDC's Risk and Compliance Officer, won the 'Safety or Wellness Person of the Year' Award for a site with over 100 employees, which was announced at the GV Safety Breakfast last week.

A well-deserved recognition for all of the work Tony does around the College in ensuring we all stay safe and well at work.

Tony's humble response was: "Quite a nice surprise to be awarded this today. Although it’s an individual prize, it represents the commitment to a safety culture here at Notre Dame College. A special thank you to Deputy Principal, Jen Frisardi for support and encouragement of my role at NDC, and as a committee member of the GV Safety Group.“

Para Sports at Notre Dame

Simon Fox from Goulburn Valley Gangaru ParaSports ran through Wheelchair basketball with the Year 11 VCE PE class and spoke about disability sports in Shepparton.
