Coronavirus Update - John Cortese - 30 August 2021 - 3:30pm

Student Free Day – Thursday, 2 September 2021

To assist with the requirements for staff and students who are still categorised as Tier 1 and required to get tested, Thursday, 2 September will now be a student free day.

Currently our Knight Street Campus is listed as a Tier 1 site on Tuesday 17, Wednesday 18 and Friday 20 August. Our Emmaus Campus has been downgraded to a Tier 2 site. Check Exposure Sites in Victoria HERE.

Day 13 Testing - Thursday 2 September

We have been notified today by the Department of Health of the arrangements for Day 13 testing.  If you were last on our Knight Street Campus on Friday 20 August, which is most of us, you are due for your Day 13 COVID Test on Thursday 2 September.

You can read the full Department of Health Day 13 School Letter.  Here are some of the key points:

  • Household members who have not been at a Tier 1 site are not required to be tested as part of the clearance unless they have COVID symptoms.
  • On Day 13 Notre Dame students and staff have been asked to seek testing from 1:00pm.
  • Please register prior to testing (instructions are in the Department of Health letter).
  • If students or staff miss their Day 13 COVID test you can still come forward to be tested. Your quarantine will end once your negative test is received by the Department of Health.

Student Vaccination

GV Health are now providing priority vaccinations for 16 – 18-year-old students. Please see When, Where and How in the Letter from GV Health

Site Cleaning

The clean of our sites began today. We can confirm that our two permanent Knight Street residents Spike & Bec (lizards) who are also isolating in the Bishop Joe Grech building have had their food and beverages delivered to their door by our cleaning team.

Our next phase of cleaning will be completed on Saturday 4 September, when another high touch point clean will occur at Knight Street and Emmaus.

Both Campuses will remain in quarantine until Monday 6 September. We will have more information later this week, regarding the Supervision Program restarting from next week.
